Almost Done

I have only two more papers to grade, then I can turn in the final grades for the class. While I might as well do them and be done with it, I think I'm going to wait. The feeling of having them completely done makes me feel sort of panicky because I'm a workaholic and I am going to have withdrawal pangs once there are no more papers to grade and no classes to prepare for the foreseeable future. Some of my students have already said they want me to tutor them, and I told them if they refer others to me, they can have $10. off per hour! Marketing already. We'll see whether they actually follow through. I could also advertise my services, but I'm not sure where.

Happy to hear that you are (probably) done by now. I understand the feeling of withdrawal. I had it at the end, as well, but so many other projects will fill up your time. Now you have what most writers dream about--time to devote your life to your writing.

It is fortunate that Richard believes you should devote your time to writing, and with unemployment and his help, this may be your best opportunity to do what you really love.

Forgot to mention your marketing plan sounds like a great idea. It's wonderful to hear that you already have potential customers. Your business card is really nice, and you already have a name for yourself as a professor, so now you're off and running!

Giving $10 off for every tutoring hour for one recommendation might be a little high, though. This depends, of course, on your hourly rate, and whether $10 off that rate would work for you in the case of long-term clients.

Inform departments, writing labs, high school guidance counselors?

$10. for the few students I have in the class may be worth it.

I am done. Except that there is one student whom I have felt it necessary to fail but if he turns in some homework that accidentally might not have gotten registered in the grading program, I will change the grade.
