Yoga Miracle

This morning when I left for yoga, after grading papers all morning, I felt terrible. I couldn't go back to sleep after getting up at 3:30 to feed the cats, and was anxious and fretting about this and that and the other. But after a wonderful yoga class in Laguna Beach, with the blue water shining in the sunshine, I was a different person. I came home and went to see The Secret of Kells with Liz. It is an absolutely beautiful, magical film, and I heartily recommend it, but you better hurry! I don't think it will be playing long.
Then we went to eat Iranian chicken. Richard was supposed to meet us, but he didn't find us. He refuses to have a cell phone, so I couldn't call him and meet up. Too bad. It was quite good, and I had enough for two. Brought most of it home.

It's every night, Beth. I didn't sleep better, but the other cat, Shadow, came and sat by my head on the pillow and purred till I fell asleep again.

Robbi,no!

I get up in the night for my children, but I do not get up for a cat unless it is being pulled backward through a blender or being blasted from a nearby volcano...

Marly,
I understand, and this would also be my policy--if I were alone in that bed. But if I refuse to get up, the cat (just one of them, the obsessive one with the weight problem) yowls and scratches at the wall till Richard gets up. I don't want both our nights to be ruined, so I get up.
I have little containers of food measured out, and I would go right back to bed and fall asleep except that if I do, that fatty will eat the other cat's food, so I wait till she has finished all of her food (she's slow) then go to bed. The fat one doesn't get any extra food that way. But lately, I have had time going back to sleep.
