Making Plans

I spoke with the surgeon this morning and told him to go ahead with the angiogram and placing of the stent in my father's heart, if necessary and/or possible. I realize as does my dad that the angiogram may kill my father and end the whole thing there, or kill his kidneys and put him on dialysis for the rest of his life, but as the doctor (and my father) see it, he is due for a big heart attack sometime soon that would probably kill him anyway. It is his choice. Left to my own devices, I probably wouldn't do it.

I agree with you, but so long as your father has the presence of mind to make his decisions, I guess he gets to. You will all be in my thoughts tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks Lou.
When I saw my dad today, he was very sick. He was short of breath and unable to move without tiring himself out. I see why he has concluded that he has no choice but to do this thing. He's either going to die right now or die trying to stay alive. I guess it's better to do the latter, if you want to fight, and he does.

Your dad is still on the side of life, whatever the cost. My father was the same way until the ability to take sides vanished. Pax tecum, Robbi!
